The significant poverty level in Honduras means many of our children and families live in sub-adequate housing. Can you imagine trying to stay healthy and deal with a life-threatening disease while living in a chicken coop? This is a real-life example of some of the housing crises our beneficiaries face.
Many do not have power, adequate toilet facilities, or sleeping quarters. Staying healthy begins with having adequate shelter and sleep. This is why Walking With Children and Caminando Con Niños partner to provide improvements to those we serve who are in desperate need of safer, more adequate shelter.
